Rochester Midland Corporation have been a leader in the specialty chemical manufacturing industry since 1888 and has a pioneering position in the development of sustainable programs. They specialise in manufacturing chemicals for food sanitation, water treatment, legionella control, facility maintenance, restroom odor control, feminine bin services and industrial cleaning. Rochester Midland Corporation in the UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of the USA Corporation and are registered to the Legionella Control Associatio.

As a water and wastewater treatment company, Rochester Midland supports a technical sales team throughout the UK and Ireland offering sustainable water management programs that are green, financially viable and add social value for the user and their community.Their programs serve all manner of industrial applications, including Cooling Towers, Closed Loops & Chilled Water, Steam Boilers & Generators and Hot & Cold Water Systems.

The Challenge

For many years Rochester Midland Corporation had been scheduling all their jobs to engineers through a manual process and used paper based methods for completing their on site reports regarding the compliance and maintenance of Cooling Towers, Closed Loops & Chilled Water, Steam Boilers & Generators and Hot and Cold Water Systems.

These on site reports, including health and safety checklists and legionella risk assessments, were all documented on paper forms. Each engineer was required to manually complete these and write up a report on each job in the field. Once a report was written, the engineer brought it back to head office where further administration of entering this into a Word document took place. The process usually took around 2.5 hours per day in administration.

Rochester Midland were looking for an easy to use, all in one job management platform to help them streamline their scheduling, allocation fo jobs and most importantly the ability to move their on site reports to a digital format enabling the quick retrieval of information from the field back to the office.

The Answer

They are now able to schedule jobs for their engineers using our scheduler and jobs are dispatched to the relevant engineer's Klipboard mobile app where they will receive all the relevant job information. Back in the office, operational managers have total oversight of business performance and a real time access to all the jobs as they progress using Klipboard's live tracking map view.

Using Klipboard's Mobile Form Builder, they were able to create custom forms to exactly match their needs along with using our pre-loaded industry standard templates for the water treatment industry. These forms are deployed with a scheduled job and completed on the Klipboard app by their engineers out on site. Data for the specific forms can be captured simply by typing or selecting responses or even through the use of voice dictation using the Klipboard mobile app. The ability to have mandatory fields, capture job images and client signatures is enabled to ensure compliance is met.
